WIC benefits

WIC helps women become confident parents of healthy kids. Pregnant women, new mothers, and young children learn how to stay healthy and get benefits to buy healthy foods.

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program gives free help with healthy foods, nutrition education, and other services to:

  • Pregnant women
  • Women who are breastfeeding or need lactation support
  • Women who gave birth within the last 6 months
  • Infants
  • Children under the age of 5

Moms get breastfeeding support through:

  • Peer counselors
  • Lactation consultants who teach how to breastfeed
  • Mommy groups
  • Classes
  • Phone calls

Families get referrals for other help they might need:

  • Prenatal care
  • Immunizations
  • Dental care
