Get free health services

Neighborhood centers’ free services help low- and moderate-income families enjoy healthier lives by providing health screenings to check blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol, pregnancy tests, and flu shots in the fall.

  1. On the day of your appointment, bring these items with you:

    • Photo ID
    • Proof of address, such as a government ID, utility bill, or mail with your address on it
    • Proof of income for all adults (18+) in the household for the last 30 days
    • Social Security numbers for everyone in the household, if available

Austin Public Health also offers free and low-cost shots to uninsured kids and adults and Medicaid recipients.

Neighborhood centers often offer additional services, including:

  • Access to food pantries
  • Bus passes
  • Notary services
  • Short-term counseling
  • Help paying rent and utilities
  • Help obtaining health insurance
  • Help searching and applying to jobs
  • Training and education
  • Child safety seats
  • Fans (in the Summer)
  • Blue Santa applications (in the Fall)
  • Help with income tax forms (in the Spring)
